Carnegie Mellon Celebrates Graduating Class Of 2013
Doha , May 06 (QNA) - Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar celebrated Monday its sixth graduating class.
Of the 81 graduates, six majored in biological sciences, 43 in business administration, 14 in computer science, and 18 in information systems. The ceremony was attended by 1200 people that included state and university officials, in addition to friends and family of the graduates. It was the first biological class ever to graduate from Carnegie Mellon Qatar.
President of Carnegie Mellon Jared Cohon said that this year's graduation ceremony, his final as Carnegie Mellon President, was the high point of his time in the University.
Some 24 students of the graduates were Qatari nationals. Students from Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Egypt, Germany, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, the Palestinian Territories, Serbia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen, United Arab Emirates and the United States of America were among the graduates.
