Canadian PM to visit Thailand

BANGKOK, March 17 (TNA) - Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper is scheduled to pay an official visit to Thailand from March 22-24, as an invitation of his Thai counterpart Yingluck Shinawatra. Harper’s visit to Thailand next week also marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Canada and Thailand. An official function to welcome the Canadian Premier will be organized on March 23 at Bangkok's Government House, after which the Canadian and Thai leaders will hold talks on issues of mutual interests. Premier Yingluck will then host a reception banquet in honour of her Canadian counterpart and his entourage at the Government House. During his three-day trip to Thailand, the Canadian Prime Minister is also scheduled to participate in a round table trade talk with Thailand's prominent chief executive officers (CEOs). (TNA)
