Cambodian Envoy visits Cambodian workers in southern Thailand

BANGKOK, June 10 (TNA) - Cambodian Ambassador to Thailand You Aye has warned against ‘misbehaviour’ among Cambodian workers in Songkhla Province, where up to 6,000 Cambodians reside. Her message came during a visit to the southern Thai province on Saturday, when she met over 500 Cambodians at a local fish pier. Paying heed to their hardships, the Cambodian ambassador vowed to engage Thai authorities in providing the needed assistance. However, she told her compatriots to obey Thai laws and refrain from causing any problems, warning they could be repatriated. More than 3,000 Cambodians have arrived in Thailand under a bilateral agreement to solve labour shortage in the country. (TNA)
