Cabinet condemns Swedish minister's remarks about Saudi Kingdom

Manama, Mar 23 (BNA) – The Cabinet has strongly condemned the statements made by the Foreign Minister of Sweden about the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its judicial system. Cabinet Secretary-General, Dr. Yasser bin Issa Al-Nasser, announced the Cabinet's condemnation following the conclusion of today's Cabinet meeting chaired by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in the presence of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. The Cabinet voiced categorical rejection of the Swedish minister's remarks, considering the charges as flagrant interference in the internal affairs of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and an encroachment on its sovereignty and jurisdiction derived from tolerant Islamic Sharia. The Cabinet reiterated its supportive stance to all measures to be taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect its sovereignty.
