CABINET BANS SMARTPHONE USE AT SCHOOLS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At its regular meeting on September 5, the Cabinet made a decision to ban smartphone use at schools and kindergartens. The decision will come into effect from October 1. But the smartphone may be used only at kindergartens for children with disabilities due to their special needs during training activity, such as contacting parents if necessary. For other children, it will be available to use their smartphones and other internet-connected devices after school. The cabinet report quoted a result of the research by London School of Economics, which says that banning mobile phones at schools sees better academic results and restricts cyber-attack and addictions. Additionally, there is a survey that Mongolia is 3.6 times more active than other Asian countries according to the number of Facebook users per capita. B.Batchimeg
