Doha , March 26 (QNA) - Chief of the Palestinian Liberation Organization Steering and Monitoring Committee Saeb Erekat said Tuesday that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was ready to attend the mini Arab summit in Cairo, an initiative made by HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Erekat said today that Abbas thanked HH the Emir for his speech at the 24th Arab summit and expressed his attendance of the mini summit in Cairo alongside Fatah and Hamas leaders in order to achieve the Palestinian national reconciliation. The plan presented by HH the Emir was threefold: firstly that any peace process must be built on an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. Secondly is achieving a Palestinian national reconciliation.
