BMA-Run Schools to End Semester This Friday
BANGKOK, March 2 (TNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has ordered 437 schools under its jurisdiction to finish final examinations and to end the semester on Friday.
It is one of the BMA’s measures to reduce risks of the Covid-19 spreading.
It will consider whether the organizing of street fairs or entertainments, which have be already announced should continue as planned or canceled on a case-by-case basis.
If it cannot be cancelled, strict screening will be imposed at the events to prevent the spread of the diseases. For example, a screening checkpoint is set up at the entrance of the Wat Arun fair, held last weekend.
Alcohol-based hand gel is available for visitors around the venue.
The BMA had three million face masks for adults and 500,000 face masks for children in stock for distribution to public members from Oct 1 – March 1.
There are 30,000 pieces left for supplying to medical staff, prone to getting infected from the virus while treating sick patients.
The BMA has to stop handing out face masks to general public at the moment because manufacturers do not have enough supply for the BMA’s order of one million face masks due to lack of raw material.
It plans to procure washable cloth masks for people during the current shortage of face masks and holds demonstrations for the public on how to make DIY cloth masks. (TNA)
