BMA organizes post-flood trade fairs selling cheap products

BANGKOK, December 13 (TNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is organizing trade fairs to offer consumer products with reasonable prices to people in the capital, in the wake of floods over the past couple of months when flood victims had lost their income. Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra confirmed in a press conference today that the trade fairs will be held at the Sports Authority of Thailand in Huamark area from December 15-18, at the Rama VIII Bridge area in the Thon Buri side from December 22-25 and at the Central shopping center from January 5-8, 2012. M.R. Sukhumbhand said leading private firms, including Siam Cement Group or SCG, Saha Pathanapibul Public Company Limited and Diethelm Limited, will participate in the events to offer discounts to shoppers of their goods, ranging from food products, household and electrical appliances and furniture. At the events, there will also be service booths providing people with post-flood restoration guides and a job fair organized by the Thai Ministry of Labour. About 600,000 households in Bangkok's 37 districts have been affected by massive floods over the past couple of months. (TNA)
