Bin Alawi Hails Qatatri-Omani Relations

Doha, March 21 (QNA) - Omani Minister in Charge of Foreign Affairs Youssuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah has praised Qatari-Omani relations underlining that they are more than strong and relations of trust stemming from the same mentality. He pointed out that there is a tendency in both countries towards build a real partnership in the future. In an interview with Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq, Bin Alawi said HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani directed that the implementation of joint projects must be accelerated, explaining that they are six projects, three of them big tourism projects, in addition to one industrial, one commercial and a sixth project related to supplying Qatar with raw materials of rock, sand and gravel, pointing out that the executive steps began under the directives of HH the Emir. "We have been able to overcome many obstacles," the Omani official said. On the joint Arab action, bin Alawi saw that the GCC countries by various means have always been a pioneer in supporting Arab causes and to create a good environment for joint Arab action, saying "what we see is a continuation of that reality". The Omani minister that the cultural, economic or social development in the GCC states is based on the joint action between governments and communities, adding that "the scientific and educational development created the high level of our young people in the GCC, adding the GCC leaders believed that such development must be achieved because of the economic potential made available to this region and due to the world's need for energy and the use of oil returns in serving the community. However, development should not only focus on the economic side but should also include political, social and all aspects and levels", Bin Alawi said. (QNA)
