BCCI expresses pride in HRH Premier's ITU honour

Manama, Aug. 7 (BNA): The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has expressed deep pride in conferring the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Award on His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa during a celebration at the United Nations headquarters in New York on September 26, marking ITU’s 150th anniversary.
BCCI Chairman Khalid Abdulrahman Al-Moayyad said the prestigious award is a continuous global recognition of the Premier’s far-sighted visions and sound policies.
It is also an international appreciation of HRH the Prime Minister’s crucial role in supporting and achieving sustainable development goals at the local and international levels, on the one hand, and the kingdom’s remarkable progress in developing the information and communication technology (ICT), on the other, he added.
Under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and thanks to the efforts of the government, led by HRH Premier, and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, the kingdom has optimised its multi-faceted milestone achievements and is currently placed among advanced countries in many fields despite its small size.
BCCI Chief underscored the importance of the prize, issued by a highly impartial, transparent and credible international organisation, noting that HRH Premier’s continuous honouring is a living proof of his statesmanship and successful policies that contributed to enhancing the kingdom’s leading status in many fields.
HRH the Prime Minister launched an international award, bearing his name, to support development projects and received many awards and certificates in recognition of his constant interest in achieving sustainable development, including the UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour Award, he said.
Al-Moayyad wished the Bahraini leadership, government and people further progress.
