Barham Salih To The French Ambassador: The Region Needs Dialogue To Defuse The Crises

Baghdad / NINA / - The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed the importance of developing relations with France and the European Union through the concluded understandings, strengthening them in various sectors, and continuing the international effort to combat terrorism. Salih indicated, during his meeting today, Thursday, with the French ambassador to Iraq, Bruno Aubert, that the region needs dialogue and convergence to defuse crises, and the need for international and regional cooperation to reduce its tensions, achieve stability, and strengthen economic and cultural ties. The two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them in various fields, stressing the importance and depth of the growing Iraqi-French relations, to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples, as well as the issues of the region./End
