Bangkok City Hall Opens Center to Cope with Coronavirus
BANGKOK, Feb 1 (TNA) -The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has set up the Emergency Operations Centre (EEC) in the wake of an outbreak of a new strain of coronavirus in China.
Deputy BMA Governor Pol Lt Gen Sophon Phitsutthiwong said the centre which has been established Friday will monitor the deadly disease closely, find appropriate measures to prevent it, and separate victims rapidly.
The operation of the new center will support the Public Health Ministry to receive information from public members on suspected coronavirus patients through telephone numbers 1669 or 1422.
The Bangkok City Hall also launched a big cleaning campaign at the skytrain interchange station – Siam Station today.
About 1,000 officials and volunteers cleaned surfaces that commuters frequently come into contact with on the skywalk from Siam station to Chidlom station to safeguard passengers in the light of the Wuhan virus situation. (TNA)
