Bahrain's Southern Governor patronizes Khalifa Town festivities

Manama, Dec. 20 (BNA): Southern Governor His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa has patronised Khalifa Town residents' festivities, lauding its historic and cultural significance.
The event marks the Kingdom’s National Day celebrated on December 16-17, the anniversary of its establishment as a modern Arab and Muslim State by its founder Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783 , the 47th anniversary of its accession as fully-fledged UN member and the 19th anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Accession to the Throne.
The modern city that combines Askar, Jau and Al Dur and their suburbs was auspiciously named after HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister, and comprises housing projects.
The ceremony began with a recitation of ayahs from the Holy Quran, followed by patriotic poems by Ahmed Bukhammas, Hassan Al Kaabi and Ali Al Romaihi.
Young resident Mohammed Al Mannai delivered a welcoming speech which drew the admiration and applause from residents and officials.
A documentary wash displayed about the city’s aesthetic blending between traditional heritage and contemporary architecture as the first prototype housing project in the Southern Governorate.
The governor participated with the residents in the Ardha performance sharing their joyousness as they celebrate their city’s first anniversary of its establishment. They praised His Highness’s patriotic efforts in consolidating the values of cohesion among the governorate’s sons hailing from the various districts on these dear national occasions.
