Bahrain's participation in anti-Daesh coalition lauded

Manama, Jan 20 (BNA): Commander of US Air Forces Central Command, Southwest Asia, Lt-Gen Charles Brown Jr. highlighted Bahrain's distinctive participation in the international coalition against Daesh terror group, saying that it still supported the international efforts in fighting terrorism.
Talking to the media during his participation in the Manama Air Force Forum, Brown said Bahrain's support was special, adding that the participation of more than 15 countries in the air campaign against Daesh boosts the combat and support capabilities of the international coalition.
He stressed that Daesh has lost control of many areas in Syria and Iraq and that it has not been able to carry out a major terror attack on the ground since May last year.
Brown said that although it is difficult to assess the advances in the fight against Daeh on the ground, particularly that it is not a traditional force that possesses tanks or planes that can be counted, there is an agreement that the terror group has lost a lot of its field domination.
He said the coalition has succeeded in imposing pressure on Daesh on the ground and in the air, adding that he was confident that more successes against the terror group would be achieved in Iraq and Syria.
Brown added that every combat operation enabled the coalition to learn more about the enemies, stressing that it now has good knowledge about how Daesh members thoughts and moved, making easier to target their location and to strike them with greater precision.
