Bahraini-UK partnership lauded

Manama, Nov. 21 (BNA): Information and Parliament Affairs Minister Isa bin Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi has lauded the effectiveness of the Bahraini-British partnership in promoting regional and global security and peace, combating terrorism and extremist organisations and supporting stability and economic development efforts. He also praised the two friendly countries' constant keenness on bolstering their relations in various fields to achieve their common interests. The minister made the remarks as received here the newly-appoint UK Ambassador to Bahrain Simon Martin. He discussed with the ambassador ways to enhance media cooperation, exchange of news and information, as well as technical expertise, wishing him every success in assuming his diplomatic duties so as to boost the long-standing bilateral relations which the two countries will celebrate their 200th anniversary next year. Ambassador Simon Martin expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the minister for the audience, reiterating the British government's interest in enhancing the deep-rooted friendship and cooperation relations based on mutual respect, and support to the continuous democratic, human rights and economic reforms in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
