Bahraini-Sudanese agricultural cooperation discussed

Manama, Dec 7 (BNA): Agriculture and Marine Resources Undersecretary Shaikh Khalifa bin Isa Al Khalifa today received the Sudanese Ambassador to Bahrain, Abdulrahman Khalil Ahmed, and discussed the latest development of the "Khairat Al-Bahrain" agricultural project established in Sudan. The undersecretary hailed the bilateral relations bonding the two countries in all fields. The two sides reviewed steps to be implemented in the upcoming stage in support of the Khairat Al-Bahrain project, which attracts the interest of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, as an vital project promotes food security system in Bahrain. They also reviewed the results of the economic and environmental feasibility study carried out under the supervision of the Islamic Development Bank. They agreed to arrange a visit, in the near future, for a delegation from the Agriculture Ministry to Sudan in preparation for the launch of the project. The undersecretary welcomed the Sudanese government's facilitation offered to Khairat Al-Bahrain project. The Sudanese Ambassador addressed an invitation to Bahraini businessmen to benefit from the joint cooperation agreements signed between the two brotherly countries, as well as to learn about the investment opportunities in Sudan, which enjoys a stable economic, political atmosphere that guarantees the success of investment projects.
