Bahraini, Palestinian judicial cooperation discussed

Manama, Nov.18 (BNA): Supreme Judicial Council Chairman, Court of Cassation President Salim bin Mohammed Al-Kawari received a Palestinian delegation and briefed them on the role of the panel to develop the judiciary in Bahrain. Led by Palestinian Supreme Judicial Council secretary-general, High Court member Dr. Nassar Hannah Mansour Al-Mansour, the delegation started today a two-day visit to have an idea about Bahrain's judicial and administrative strides. Palestinian Ambassador Taha Abdul Qader attended the meeting which focused on deep-rooted historic relations bonding the two countries. Al-Kawari highlighted His Majesty the King's keenness on bolstering the independence of the judicial branch of government, which stems its power from the constituency and law provisions. He underlined the efforts of the council to develop judges so as to meet international standards, safeguard rights and enforce the rule of the law for justice to be done. Dr. Al-Mansour said that the visit of the Palestinian delegation was recommended by international parties, including Dutch experts, to be update on Bahrain's strides in running judicial facilities. He commended the multi-phased 2020 judicial strategy in Bahrain.
