Bahraini, French parliamentary cooperation discussed

Manama, Oct. 29 (BNA): A number of Shura Council Members headed by Shura Council's Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee Chairman Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Ajman met here today the French Senator Joel Guerriau. The shura members affirmed the outstanding Bahraini-French relations, especially on the parliamentary level. The meeting was held in the presence of Women and Children Affairs Committee Chairperson MP Hala Ramzi Fayez, MP Dr. Mohammed Ali Al-Khuzai, MP Fatima Abduljabbar Al-Kooheji, MP Nancy Dinah Elly Khedouri and French Ambassador to Bahrain Bernard Régnauld-Fabre. They exchange views on a number of topics of mutual interest on the political, economic and social levels, including the promotion of joint coordination toward various issues like the obstacles facing the region and mechanisms to strengthen international cooperation to overcome them, in order to establish security and stability. Senator Guerriau lauded the Kingdom of Bahrain's achievements and progress, expressing hope for more bilateral parliamentary cooperation. The Shura members praised France's stance in supporting the region's security and stability and they reviewed Bahrain's experience in empowering women and ensuring that laws protect the rights of citizens and residents, in line with the constitution and international conventions.
