Bahraini-French Committee holds second meeting

Paris, Nov. 21 (BNA): The Joint Bahraini-French Committee held its second meeting here yesterday. The Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation was headed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary, Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, while the French side was headed by Ambassador Jerome Bonnafont, Director of North Africa and Middle East Directorate at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development. The Bahraini delegation also included Bahrain’s Ambassador to the French Republic, Dr Mohammed Abdulghafar Abdulla, and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Information Affairs, Shura Council and Council of Representatives Affairs, Ministry of Education and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting discussed issues related to bolstering cooperation between the two countries, affirming the strength of bilateral ties, the importance of bolstering cooperation in various political, economic and media fields as well as cooperation in the education fields, encouraging investment and the exchange of trade. It also focused on the latest regional and international developments of mutual interest. In this regard, the Kingdom of Bahrain condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, affirming Bahrain’s solidarity and support to the French Republic in combating such heinous acts. The minutes of the meeting were signed by Ambassador Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla signed on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Ambassador Jerome Bonnafont signed on behalf of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development. The delegations expressed their keenness to hold the committee’s third meeting in Manama next year.
