Bahrain Welcomes election of Egypt as non-permanent member of UN Security Council

Manama, Oct. 15 (BNA)-- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain welcomes the election of Egypt today with a landslide majority as a non-permanent member of of the UN Security Council for two years term. The Ministry affirmed that this election demonstrates the international community's confidence in Egypt and is the dividend of the active role played by the Egyptian diplomacy and its strenuous efforts in fostering regional and international peace and security. The Ministry congratulated the Arab Republic of Egypt, and reiterated that Egypt's non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council represents an important and pivotal step in shoring up of Arab causes. It added the election injects momentum in Egypt's tireless efforts to settle the conflicts and crises challenging the states of the region, as well as pursuing the implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions for the best Arab interest and invigorating the constructive role of the international community to address all challenges, particularly, violence and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
