Bahrain-US security cooperation discussed

Manama, July 28 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, today received US Ambassador to Bahrain, William Roebuck, and stressed the government's keenness on developing Bahrain's human resources and providing secure environment and stable living services. Deputy Premier underlined people's solidarity with their leaders in various situations for maintaining the region's security and stability. He noted working alongside allied and friendly countries to address common threats and acts of aggression, such as interventions in the internal affairs of Bahrain and neighboring countries, and unjustified statements which are in violation of international norms and good neighbourly relations. He said that Bahrain's leadership and loyal citizens are capable of deterring local terrorism which targets damaging the homeland's security and stability, pointing out sacrifice made over the past years as a result of terror acts, including today's Sitra bombing which left two on duty policemen dead and others injured. He added that Bahrain is also capable of addressing external terrorism in cooperation and coordination with Arab and friendly countries. US Ambassador extended sincere condolences to the Kingdom of Bahrain's leadership and people over the terror blast took place today in Sitra. He hailed vigilant Bahraini security men who have contributed to foiling many terrorist attacks, noting Bahrain-US security cooperation and his country's readiness to provide all forms of security support. He commended Bahrain's human rights achievements, which placed Bahrain among Tier 2 Watch List, US Human Trafficking Report. The meeting also tackled topics of joint interest.
