Bahrain urban development efforts stressed

Manama, (BNA): Chief Executive of the Urban Planning and Development Authority Shaikh Nayef bin Khalid Al Khalifa received Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Maimunah Mohammed Sharif on the occasion of her visit to Bahrain. Shaikh Nayef praised the farsighted vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the efforts of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, First Deputy Premier and Chairman of the High Urban Planning Committee, which enabled Bahrain to achieve an advanced status in various development indices. Both sides discussed ways of backing the kingdom's efforts in the urban sector to achieve the sustainable development goals in tune with the government's work plan. Shaikh Nayef stressed that the Urban Planning and Development Authority is going ahead with its efforts to boost Bahrain's standing on the global sustainable development map through various initiative and projects. He also pointed out the authority's keenness on cooperation with competent parties to serve the kingdom's development process.
