Bahrain tourism revenues boosted
Manama: April 29 – (BNA) The Ministry of Culture's Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is a unique case of cultural tourism which has been designated the Capital of Arabian Culture2013 and the Capital of Asian Culture for three years successively.
Bahrain achieved the highest tourism revenues in its history in 2013.
Shaikh Khalid in a press statement on the side-lines of the meeting of "Experts to setup criteria to select the Asian Tourism City" today said that the selection of Bahrain as the Capital of Arab Culture, the Capital of Arab Tourism and the Capital of Asian Tourism from 2012 to 2014 boosted revenues, bookings and the figures of inbound tourism.
The Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism in the Ministry of Culture said that in cooperation with the Directorate of Immigration, Passports and Residence, seven new countries have been added to the list of 26 countries whose subjects are granted tourist visa at the Bahrain Airport, amongst them are China and Russia.
