Bahrain signs agreements with Korea, Gambia

New York, Oct.1 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Yun Byung-se, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the establishment of a joint cooperation committee between the foreign ministries of the two countries on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings in New York. The Memorandum of Understanding aims to bolster friendship ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Korea in accordance with the principles and provisions of the Charter of the United Nations. This is in addition to bolstering political, commercial, cultural, scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries with the establishment of the Joint Bahraini-Korean Committee for bilateral cooperation that will be responsible for examining the methods and means to bolster cooperation between the two countries in all fields as well as coordinating and cooperating to ensure the implementation of the decisions made by the committee in line with the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding. It also aims to facilitate and encourage the exchange of information and expertise as well as the exchange of regular visits of delegations between the two countries. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Gambia, Neneh Macdouall-Gaye, also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral cooperation between the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries, in order for consultations and exchange of information on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest contribute in bolstering understanding between the two countries. The Memorandum of Understanding aims to bolster cordial ties and cooperation between the two countries in the political and economic fields among others by holding regular consultations on a senior officials level and holding joint meetings of work teams and experts to discuss specific fields within the framework of issues of mutual interest.
