Bahrain, Russia sign Transfer of Sentenced Persons Agreement

Manama, Dec. 15 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and the Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Alexander Konovalov signed an agreement of Sentenced Persons between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation. The agreement aims at enhancing legal cooperation and facilitating the transfer of convicted to discharge their verdicts in their homelands. The Foreign Minister affirmed that the signature of this agreement is very important step, noting that the ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation is moving steadily forward due to the keenness of the two side to expand cooperation in order to meet their aspirations and interests, and increase the coordination and understanding on various issues.
