Bahrain pays tribute to late poet

Manama, May 10 (BNA): A ceremony was held this evening at the cultural hall in tribute to late Bahraini poet Abdulrahman Rafea. The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) organised the commemorative event along with the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) and Bahrain Writers Association. The ceremony was also attended by official figures, cultural and media personalities. BACA President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa addressed the event, paying a posthumous homage to late Abdulrahman Rafea. She hailed his prolific literary legacy, saying that all suave and creative poetry and ideas will always remain engraved in the memory of his homeland Bahrain Writers Association Chairman Ibrahim Buhindi also paid tribute to the late poet, hailing his prolific poetry and tremendous contribution to Bahrain's literary and cultural life. Buhindi extended thanks to Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) for holding the commemorative ceremony in tribute to the late poet.
