Bahrain pays homage to national heroes

Manama, Sep5 (BNA): The bodies of the five martyrs of sacred national duty arrived this afternoon in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa was at the forefront as the Bahrain Royal Air Force plane carrying the bodies of First Sergeant Mohammed Nabeel Hamad‎, Sergeant Mohammed Hafedh Younis, Sergeant Abdulqader Al Alas, Sergeant Hasan Iqbal Mohammed and Corporal Abdul Monem Ali Hussain landed at Isa Airbase. The heroes of the nation were flown back, accompanied by Royal Guard Commander Brigadier Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Special Royal Guard Force Commandant Major Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and other BDF officers. Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa and senior officers as well as Royal Guard servicemen saluted the martyrs of duty during a military ceremony held at the base. The ceremony was also attended by Defence Affairs Minister Lieutenant-General Youssef bin Ahmed Al-Jalahma, BDF Acting Chief of Staff Major-General Abdulla Hassan Al-Nuaimi, senior BDF officers and the martyrs’ bereaved families. The brave soldiers died while performing their sacred national duty as part of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition in support of the legitimacy in Yemen. Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa conveyed deepest condolences from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, to the bereaved families of the martyrs who died performing their sacred national duty. The BDF Commander-in-Chief prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the souls of the martyrs of duty in eternal peace, wishing the other BDF servicemen who sustained injuries while performing their sacred national duty quick recovery. He extended deepest condolence to all the BDF affiliates and loyal Bahraini people and paid tribute to the BDF affiliates for their sincere dedicated efforts and fraternal role alongside their brothers in defending the right, hailing their high morale, professionalism and discipline in performing their noble duties. He described the BDF martyrs of duty as a source of pride and role model for all Bahrainis, setting an example of sacrifice, dedication, abnegation, loyalty and national belonging. He paid tribute to the BDF servicemen who are taking part in the Saudi-led Arab Coalition, braving all challenges and dangers which are confronting the nation, so as to support the legitimate Government in Yemen and achieve regional security and peace.
