Bahrain participates in Resilience Development Forum

Manama, Nov.9 (BNA): Represented by a delegation, led by Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs and Dr. Mustapha Al Sayyed, Secretary General of the Royal Charity Organization(RCO), The Kingdom of Bahrain participated in the Resilience Development Forum (RDF): The Syrian crisis, hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at the Dead Sea from 8 to 9 November 2015. The Forum, held in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the auspices of the Jordanian Premier, Abdullah Ensour, shed light on the humanitarian issues in the region and the Syrian refugees host countries, how to support the brothers inside Syria and how to offer aids to the victims, especially children. The participating ministers and representatives of the civil society have exchanged views and experiences on how to set up policies and prepare scientific response plans and programmes in order to present the best services to the victims and protect them from various hazards. To this, the participants hailed the experience of the Kingdom of Bahrain in assisting the victims at times of crises as His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa was the first to order the construction of schools at Al Zaatari Camp on the Syrian-Jordanian borders and a school in the Jordanian Governorate of Irbid to secure schooling for the Syrian children in addition to building two housing complexes at Al Zaatari and Al Azraq camps. On the sidelines of the event, the delegation of the kingdom held meetings with UDP Administrator, Helen Clark, who expressed appreciation for the Bahraini Monarch and praised the Kingdom of Bahrain, government and people, for their excellent initiatives in support of the humanitarian causes everywhere and for catering for the victims worldwide to alleviate their sufferings. She lauded the good charity efforts led by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spearheaded by Minister of Foreign affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa. The Delegation also met with the Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Imad Al Khoury, who paid tribute to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the assistance it provided to the Syrian refugees on the Syrian-Jordanian border camps. He expressed his country’s appreciation the cooperation exhibited by the Kingdom of Bahrain at crisis times, emphasizing the need to continue this cooperation to administer aid and confront crises. For his part, the Secretary General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO)l Ayman Al Mufleh welcomed the kingdom of Bahrain’s participation at the forum and hailed the humanitarian job it is undertaking citing the developmental, educational and health projects it has launched to alleviate the sufferings of the poor peoples and victims, particularly children, saying that thanks to HM’s vision, a whole generation of Syrians was saved from loss and provided with appropriate schooling and shelter. And on the sidelines of the forum, the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain also took part in an exhibition showcasing innovative ways of presenting services to the victims where the delegation members met with a number of government officials, heads of civil society organizations operating in the humanitarian field and exchanged with them viewpoints on how to coordinate future aids
