Bahrain participates in Jakarta Summit

Manama, Apr. 23 (BNA): On behalf of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Shura Council and Council of Representatives Affairs Minister, Ghanim bin Fadhul Al-Buainain, participated today in the Asian African Summit Conference in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. The 2015 Afro Asian Summit marks 60 years since the NAM first summit meeting in Bandung. In his speech, the minister outlined the challenges, dangers which make it imperative to revive the spirit of 1955 Bandung Summit and consolidate the roots of strategic partnership between the nations in both continents to boost cooperation on development, prosperity and stability in a world that is full of upheavals, conflicts, problems to ensure international peace security. He said despite all the challenges, there are high hopes as the Asian and African countries have accomplished significant progress in the political, economic and social arenas and become internationally effective in decision-making after the 1955 Bandung Summit and eliminated any traces of colonialism in all walks of life.
