Bahrain to participate in GCC parliamentary meeting

Manama, Nov. 2 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain's parliamentary delegation will leave tomorrow for Riyadh to attend the 8th GCC Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee to be held in Riyadh on November 4-5. The delegation will be headed by Parliament Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee Vice-Chairman Khamis Al Rumaihi, comprising Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee Member MP Dheyab Mohammed Al-Nuaimi and Council of Representatives Secretary-General Abdulla Al Dossary. The committee's agenda includes the formation of a committee of experts in parliamentary work to study ways of developing legislative councils' joint work and discussion of mechanisms to respond to the reports issued by international parliamentary bodies regarding the GCC countries. The committee will address joint GCC matters that include the proposal of three topics to be reviewed at the regular meeting and follow-up with the results of GCC parliamentary committee in the legislative field. The committee members will be informed on the results of the work achieved by GCC parliamentary committee to promote relations with the European Parliament and prepare draft agenda for the 9th Meeting of the Heads of GCC Parliaments and Shura Councils.
