Bahrain marks International Peace Day

Manama, Sep. 20(BNA): Bahrain will tomorrow join the other nations of the world in celebrating the International Day of Peace, which falls on September 21.
The United Nations (UN) day, which was first celebrated in 1982 is being held this year under the theme: "Partnership for Peace – Dignity for All".
The National Institution of Human Rights (NIHR) seized the occasion to back the UN call on all peoples in the world to live in peace as one family.
In a statement today, the watchdog stressed the importance for all human beings to live as partners for peace and build a world that ensures prosperity and dignity for all people throughout the world.
It commended the efforts of the Government and civil society institutions to disseminate the culture of peace, democracy and human rights among people and enhance their awareness.
