He stressed the importance of taking advantage of the event to raise awareness among members of the Bahraini society on the need to preserve nature. He pointed out that the kingdom’s interest in environment is the result of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s support and directives to promote the basics and principles of sustainable development and strike a balance between the needs of the nation and the citizens for development and infrastructure to meet the requirements of decent living, and preserving natural resources. The kingdom is adopting the global basics and principles of sustainable development to achieve growth and development while preserving natural resources, which is evident in Bahrain’s Economic Vision, 200, and the government’s action plans, Shaikh Abdulla said.
