Bahrain hosts GCC's Second National, Regional Security Conference

Manama: April 23 – (BNA): In the presence and under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the two-day Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s Second Conference on National and Regional Security has been hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain's Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (DERASAT) . The Advisor of HM the King for Diplomatic Affairs cum DERASAT's board of trustees' chairman Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Ghaffar delivered the inaugural speech in which he thanked Deputy Premier His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa for his patronage of this major conference. Dr. Abdul-Ghaffar also welcomed the high-profile attendees and participants at the conference, citing the importance of this conference in the light of various challenges their regional ramifications. The conferences sheds light on key issues of national and regional security of the Gulf Cooperation Council-member countries, current challenges, future strategies to cope with these challenges. (IY)
