Bahrain to host Arab meeting

Manama, Nov.3 (BNA): The 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda will be the subject of a pan-Arab ministerial conference which will open on December 6 in Bahrain. The two-day forum will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa. Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan today chaired the meeting of the committee in charge of the event and was briefed about preparations which are coordinated with the Arab League General-Secretariat and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The minister said that the upcoming meeting would issue Bahrain Declaration, which will outline a viable roadmap conducive to the implementing of the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. He gave directives to spare no efforts to ensure the pan-Arab ministerial conference which will be held under the auspices of HRH the Premier. The blueprint which will be drawn-up in Manama meeting will be referred to the forthcoming Aram Summit, scheduled to be held in 2016 in Morocco. Bahrain hosted the high-level Arab Forum on Sustainable development last May under the aegis of HRH the Premier, in the presence of ministers, and senior officials representing Arab and international organisations.
