Bahrain-EU human rights cooperation discussed

Manama, June 2 (BNA): National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)' President Dr. Abdulaziz Abul received EU Special Representative for Human Rights Stavros Lambrinidis and the accompanying delegation. NIHR President gave an overview of the NIHR's efforts in the dissemination and protection of human rights, pointing out winning the 2014 Chaillot Prize for the Promotion of Human Rights in the GCC Region, in recognition of the NIHR's efforts in preserving human rights in the country. EU Representative congratulated NIHR on winning the Cahillot Prize, expressing EU readiness to organize a number of training courses and workshops on the dissemination of human rights, as well as supporting NIHR to reach its desired goals.
