Bahrain, Egypt stress Arab solidarity to address threats, challenges

Manama , Oct 29 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today welcomed President Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi of Arab Republic of Egypt and the accompanying delegation upon their arrival at the Bahrain International Airport on a fraternal visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Also present at the welcoming ceremony were HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister and HM the King's sons.
A reception ceremony was held at the Gudaibiya Palace, where HM the King and the Egyptian President headed to the platform of Honour and the national anthems of the two countries were played.
HM the King and Egyptian President held a meeting in the presence of HRH Prime Minister, HRH Crown Prince and the delegations of both sides.
HM the King and Egyptian President discussed the solid deep-rooted relations binding the two countries in all fields and means of boosting cooperation in the interest of the two countries and their people, amid the various challenges witnessed by the region which require concerted efforts to address them.
HM the King underlined the depth and strength of Bahraini-Egyptian relations and the development at all levels, stressing he looked forward to continuing joint work with the Egyptian President to further develop them to meet the aspirations of the two countries and their people.
HM the King and Egyptian President expressed delight in the development of the bilateral relations in various areas, highlighting keenness to bolster them for the benefit of the two nations.
HM the King expressed appreciation of Egypt's supportive stances toward the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Egyptian President's efforts in enhancing the progress of the bilateral relations and reinforcing the principles of cooperation.
HM the King pointed out Egypt's strategic role in defending the Arab nation and protecting its security, wishing Egypt long-term security and stability.
Egypt's President thanked HM the King for Bahrain's genuine supportive stances towards his country and its people, hailing the gracious welcome and fine hospitality he has felt.
Arab, regional and international developments were reviewed, in addition to topics of joint interest, and both sides emphasized the importance of consolidating Arab solidarity and achieving common Arab interests to address all forms of threats and challenges.
Security and stability and the fight against terrorism and extremism in the region were also discussed.
Following the meeting, HM the King hosted a dinner banquet in honor of President Al-Sisi and the accompanying delegation.
A Mission of Honour led by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa was formed.
