Bahrain Bar Society backs anti-sectarianism draft law

Manama, Aug.23 (BNA): A draft law on combating the scourges on combating discrimination and sectarianism will be submitted to the Cabinet. Bahrain Bar Society (BBS) backed the proposed legislation, expressing readiness to provide all required technical support.
BBS Chairperson Huda Rashid Al-Mehzaa expressed the stance, hailing the keynote speech of the Minister of Interior Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa as he addressed key community segments, including religious scholars, MPs, Shura Council members, representatives of human rights organizations, editors-in-chief, journalists, businessmen, lawyers, doctors, owners of Majalis and heads of sports clubs and youth centers.
She stressed Bahrainis' unity, rallying behind His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. The Kingdom of Bahrain, she said, has always been since its establishment, a beacon of tolerance and co-existence between religions and sects.
