Bahrain attracted $957m in Foreign Direct Investments in 2014

Manama, June 24 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain attracted around $957 million in foreign direct investments (FDI) flows in 2014.
The updated figures featured in United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) World Investment Report 2015.
MENA Centre for Investment launched the global report in a press conference, in cooperation with the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) and in association with UNCTAD.
According to the latest UNCTAD survey, the FDI inflows ratio of gross fixed capital formation in Bahrain amounted to 22.4 per cent in 2014 , compared with 19.3% in 2013 .
The report also shows that Bahrain’s inward foreign direct investment (FDI) stocks stood at 55.5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), compared with 54.3 % in 2013.
EDB Chief Executive Officer Khalid Al-Romaihi expressed his optimism in the ability of the national economy to bolster its solid share of foreign direct investments.
He stressed foreign investors’ continuous interests to establish in Bahrain by pumping new capital flows in qualitative and viable projects in Bahrain.
