Bahrain affirms support to Yemen

Manama, Apr.23 (BNA) Bahrain is preparing to dispatch relief aid to Yemen, said Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa. He revealed that the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) would coordinate the lifeline with the Yemeni Government, affirming the Kingdom's commitment to support Yemen and back legitimacy. "His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa directed coordination through the RCO to send relief aid to Yemen", he said. The minister announced the move in a press conference which was convened today marking the visit of Yemeni Vice President, Prime Minister Khalid Mahfoudh Bahah and other senior officials to Bahrain. He reiterated Bahrain's commitment to Yemen and all other issues which affect the security of the countries on the regional and Arab level. He pointed out that the talks between His Majesty the King and Vice President Khalid Bahah focused on regional threats, adding that a joint cooperation action plan was discussed. He pointed that the Operation Decisive Storm would continue, alongside Operation Restore Hope, to deter the Houthi militias and protect Yemeni people. In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the minister that Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, are looking forward to heralding a new constructive phase with Yemen, adding that support would focus on the economy, education and infrastructure in particular. Vice President Bahah extended deep thanks to HM the King, the wise leadership and officials for the warm welcome and genuine hospitality, expressing confidence that his country is on the right track. "The Houthi militias are perpetrating a crime against the Yemeni people", he said, adding that dialogue would start the moment militias comply with the UN Security Council Resolutions and hand over their weapons for Yemen to regain its internal stability. He pointed out that Operation Decisive Storm and would continue alongside Restore Hope Operation so as to achieve the desired, deploring the fact that Iran is still adamant on sending vessels to back Houthi rebels, instead of dispatch food to help Yemeni people. "Iran should understand that the end of Operation Decisive Storm does not mean its failure", he said, accusing Tehran regime of seeking to fuel further conflicts in the region.
