Bahrain’s solidarity with France commended

Manama, July 15 (BNA): France has today vowed to continue combating terrorism so as to root out this heinous scourge and dry up its sources. "Terrorist attacks will not weaken the Republic, which is home to millions of people from all over the world under the banner of tolerance, freedom and justice", said French Ambassador to Bahrain Bernard Régnauld-Fabre. In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), he reiterated his country’s unflinching determination to continue fighting terrorism which, he said, seeks to undermine his country’s standing and subvert its security. He commended the stance of Bahrain which expressed full support and solidarity with France in its all-out war on terror. "This war involves all countries which are confronting one enemy - the scourge of terrorism which is not restricted to one religion or nationality", he said. This deadly terrorist attack, he said, has plunged the whole world in deep grief, adding that the targeted city, Nice, welcomes thousands of tourists round the year. He said that the crime hit Nice as the Republic of France celebrates the Bastille Day, on July 14, which symbolises freedom, democracy, justice and equality. He added that this attack will never deter France from working within the international alliances to combat terrorism, dry up its sources and stop its transnational spillovers. He described the attack as tragic and horrific as it left dozens of innocent civilians dead and others injured and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, affirming that France will remain strong and firm in waging the war on terrorism. "France is using hi-tech equipment to strengthen its national security" he said, stressing the need to install cutting edge checkpoints to identify all those implicated in security cases so as to protect human lives. "France, which has long been famed for its deep-rooted traditions of freedom and democracy, is no place for extremists and lawbreakers", he said.
