Bahrain’s first annual Global Employers’ Summit begins

Manama, Oct. 6 (BNA): On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa today attended the inauguration ceremony of Bahrain's first Global Employers’ Summit.
The summit, which is organised by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the International Organisation of Employers, will provide a unique opportunity to discuss the business environment in the region, the movement of workers, global youth unemployment, and the role of the financial sector.
During the event, BCCI Chairman Mr. Khalid Almoayed expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for supporting the event. The Chairman went on to express his appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa for attending the event, and added that the government’s support to the summit demonstrates the Kingdom’s on-going efforts to develop key areas within the Kingdom’s economy, particularly the exhibition and conferences sector.
Speaking about the importance of the summit, Mr. Almoayed emphasised the important role played by such events in promoting Bahrain’s business and investment opportunities. The Chairman also highlighted the summit’s role in enhancing coordination and collaboration between the private and public sectors, and noted that this forms a key part of the Kingdom’s sustainable economic growth and diversification efforts.
BCCI's First Vice-Chariman, Othman Alrayes expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness for supporting the summit, and highlighted His Royal Highness’s continued support to the BCCI and its role in hosting events that positively contribute to the Kingdom’s economy.
Whilst attending the summit, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa highlighted that Bahrain has become a regional leader in hosting economic and business conferences that facilitate important discussion on the development of the region’s business environment. His Highness added that The first Global Employers’ Summit provided an extremely valuable platform for experts from across the globe to explore key areas of interest for businesses.
A number of prominent speakers featured in the event, including senior figures from widely respected international organisations, such as the OECD and World Trade Organisation.
