Baghdad International Fair Opens Tomorrow

BAGHDAD / NINA / Minister of Trade Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani declared that "the Baghdad International Fair will open on Sunday with the participation of twenty-two countries and 590 companies." He said in a press conference today that "the BIF will see the participation of 22 countries including the United States, Russia, Iran, Japan, Italy, Netherlands, Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia and Syria, as well as 590 Iraqi and foreign and Arab companies." He added, "The areas of the covered halls of the companies amounted to 26 000 square meters and 4000 square meters of roofless, noting that all halls are reserved, which means most of the international companies participate." He pointed out that "BIF is a message on the strength and the will of Iraq to defeat terrorism on one hand and to strengthen relations with the countries of the world on the other hand, indicating that it represents a significant opportunity for investment." He added that "Iraq after getting rid of Daash will need global companies to rebuild and reconstruct its infrastructure, noting that BIF represents a link between these companies." He said, "the last three days of rain would not affect the Fair and it is now ready to welcome the participants." The 42-session of Baghdad International Fair is scheduled to be held tomorrow, and will last up to 10 of the current month. / End
