BACA President visits Inner City of Baku

Baku, May 20(BNA): Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa visited the old Inner City of Baku – the first Azeri site to be inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. BACA President paid the visit to the iconic site on the sidelines of the third World Intercultural Forum which opened last Monday in Azerbaijan and concluded yesterday (May19). She toured the famed museum and fort at old Inner City of Baku, which showcase Collectibles and artifacts that reflect the richness of the city and its history. She met Dr. Roya Tagieva, Director of the Carpet Museum in Baku, also called State Museum of Azerbaijan Carpet and Applied Art, which displays Azerbaijani carpets and rug items of various weaving techniques and materials from various periods and provides the visitor a glimpse of the richness of the historical profession across and super- old beauty designs. She also visited the Heydar Aliyev Center, which was designed renowned architect Zaha Hadid, as well as the Baku Museum of Modern Art, which was designed by famed French architect Jean Nouvel and constructed in 2009.
