BACA President takes part in Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers

Manama, Nov. 2 (BNA): President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa took part today in the opening of the 9th session of the Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers which convened in Muscat, Oman, under the theme "Towards a Moderate Culture Favouring Muslims Societies’ Development". The audience approved Muharraq as "the Capital of Islamic Culture" given its rich cultural and historical heritage as well as its embodiment of the sustainable development fundamentals. Shaikha Mai stressed Bahrain’s success to take advantage of its rich heritage and glorious civilisation to ensure sustainable development and a vibrant cultural tourism sector. The opening of the conference was attended by Omani Minister of Heritage and Culture Haitham bin Taraq Al Saeed, Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO) Dr. Abdulaziz bin Othman Al Tuwaijri and Culture Ministers of Islamic countries.
