Azerbaijani peacekeeping contingent in Afghanistan changes

Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan.16/ Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / Azerbaijani peacekeeping contingent serving in Afghanistan has been changed in rotation order. New personnel of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces' peacekeeping contingent serving at the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan arrived in this country two days ago and assumed their duties, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry's deputy spokesman Teymur Abdullayev told Trend on Monday. It should be noted that Azerbaijani peacekeeping contingent at the ISAF in Afghanistan has 90 peacekeepers. In 1997, a company was established in Azerbaijani National Army, and later a battalion of peacekeepers was created. Azerbaijani peacekeepers served in the Multi-National Force in Iraq and Kosovo.
