Azerbaijan increases gas exports via BTE pipeline

Azerbaijan exported 9.8 billion cubic meters of gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (BTE) pipeline from January through October 2020, which is 18 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing a report of the State Statistical Committee.

At the same time, 23.6 billion cubic meters of gas were transported via the major pipelines of Azerbaijan, which is 7.2 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
The length of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is over 700 kilometers. This gas pipeline transports gas produced at the Shah Daniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. Azerbaijani gas is supplied by pipeline to Georgia and Turkey.
