Azerbaijan to continue supporting BSTDB's efforts to increase capital - minister

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23. Azerbaijan will continue supporting the efforts of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) to increase capital, Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said at the 24th annual meeting of the BSTDB, chaired by the minister, on June 23, Trend reports. "The BSTDB significantly increased its capital in 2021. In the current geopolitical situation, Azerbaijan expressed its readiness to contribute to the bank's efforts to increase its capital," Sharifov said. According to him, the Black Sea region today is faced with an unprecedented situation. The situation in Ukraine has disrupted global supply chains, threatening trade, food and energy security, the minister said. "On behalf of Azerbaijan, I want to express our full readiness to provide the bank with all possible support," added Sharifov.
