Austrians to finance construction of ski resort in Kyrgyzstan

The project was discussed at the meetings of the Kyrgyz-Austrian government commission for economic relations. The talks were held in Bishkek with the participation of Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic Almaz Baketaev, representatives of the Fund and other departments, as well as Austrian officials and businessmen. “In the future, there will be a sports multifunctional complex. So far, we are talking only about topographic survey, so that we can start implementing the project. Negotiations are underway with the Austrian company Doppelmayr, which is recognized as the best in the world in the manufacture of ropeways,” Alexander Valitov, managing director of the fund said. Kyrgyzstan intends to order a gondola-type cable car from this company. A topographic survey is currently underway. According to the agreement, 30% will be invested by the Kyrgyz side and 70% - by the Austrian side.
