Asian Wrestling Championships. Kyrgyzstan earned 14 medals for first time

Kyrgyzstan for the first time in history won 14 medals at the Asian Wrestling Championships held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, President of the Kyrgyz Wrestling Federation Melis Turganbaev said during a press conference at Kabar News Agency. Thus, national athletes earned 4 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze medals. "Thus, in the championships’ final standings, Kyrgyzstan took fourth place. In turn, the national Greco-Roman wrestling team took third place in the team event, and women's wrestling and freestyle wrestling teams took sixth place," he said. The president of the Kyrgyz Wrestling Federation added that Kyrgyzstan was represented by 21 athletes, eight coaches, two doctors, one masseur and two international category judges. List of medalists: - Aiperi Medet kyzy (weight category up to 76 kg) – gold in female wrestling; - Zholaman Sharshenbekov (up to 60 kg) – gold in Greco-Roman wrestling; - Akzhol Makhmudov (up to 77 kg)- gold in Greco-Roman wrestling; - Aisuluu Tynybekova (up to 62 kg) – silver in female wrestling; - Meerim Zhumanazarova (up to 68 kg) – silver in female wrestling; - Ernazar Akmataliyev (up to 70 kg) – silver in freestyle wrestling; - Almaz Smanbekov (up to 57 kg) – bronze in freestyle wrestling; - Ulukbek Zholdoshbekov (up to 61 kg) – bronze in freestyle wrestling; - Islambek Orozbekov (up to 74 kg) – bronze in freestyle wrestling; - Arsalan Budazhapov (up to 79 kg) – bronze in freestyle wrestling; - Adilkhan Nurlnabekov (up to 72 kg) – bronze in Greco-Roman wrestling; - Uzur Dzhuzupbekov (up to 97 kg) – bronze in Greco-Roman wrestling; - Roman Kim (up to 130 kg) – bronze in Greco-Roman wrestling. The Asian Championships in Greco-Roman, freestyle and women's wrestling for adults took place in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) on April 19-24.
