Ashghal Starts Developing Al Meena Street and Corniche Intersection, Opens Duhail Interchange Exit
Doha, April 03 (QNA) - As part of its development plans for the Corniche Street, the Public Works Authority "Ashghal" is to install traffic lights at the Corniche St. Al Meena St. intersection. The project comes within the Ashghal endeavor to reduce traffic congestion in the city.
This project will require Ashghal to temporarily close one lane of each side of the Corniche Street near the port entrance towards Museum of Islamic Art roundabout.
Another lane will be closed on the Al Meena Street leaving Al Rufaa Intersection and heading to Corniche. Also on the street exiting the port, one lane will be closed.
Closures of all those lanes will be effective as of Thursday night, 4th of April 2013.
A dedicated lane will be allocated to serve the trucks entry to port and leaving the port towards Corniche Street through Sharq Interchange instead of using the Museum of Islamic Arts roundabout.
Upon completion, the project will also ease the traffic flow coming from Al Rufaa Intersection towards the Corniche and direct entry to the MIA Park.
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has also recently opened Duhail Interchange exits from Um Lakhba Interchange direction and Al Shamal Road, which were closed for development and maintenance works.
The opening is part of Ashghals development and improvement works at the Duhail Interchange which aims to ease traffic congestions, as the interchange sees heavy traffic jam during rush hours. (QNA)
